HTC 7 Mozart

HTC brings yet another Windows Phone 7 powered device called 7 Mozart. Ever since the announcement of the Windows Phone 7 operating system took place, several manufacturers have revealed their latest devices. Out of those manufacturers, HTC is still ahead as the company has revealed five devices that run on the latest WP 7 OS. Is it quite difficult to say, which one is better among the five handsets, but it is for sure that HTC 7 Mozart definitely looks appealing. If you are still not convinced, then flip around the device and you will find its aluminium unibody construction like the one you have seen in the HTC Legend, and HTC Google Nexus One. Another advantage over the other HTC WP7 phones is the 8 MP camera with Xenon Flash (other phones feature 5Mp camera with LED flash.

HTC 7 Mozart – Unique Applications

If you are not alien to the latest happening of the electronic world, you would probably know that Microsoft has introduced strict guidelines for no skinning on Windows Phone 7. This implies that the manufacturers like HTC cannot port comparable experience from their offerings, which are based on Windows Mobile 6 or Android™. For this reason, HTC introduced a new application, which is called the HTC Hub app. If you want our honest feedback, then we would say that it simply a modified version of HTC Sense. This app looks like a weather app that features a portal with links to some of HTC applications.

Let’s take a quick review of the apps. With the Photo Enhancer apps you can load an image, apply your preferred filer like sepia, vintage, etc. and save it. Sound Enhancer is a dedicated tool for setting various audio effects such as headphone equalizer, SRS enhancement, and Dolby Mobile. The other apps include Connection Setup for setting up connection for different networks, Converter, Notes, and Stocks. All these apps work quite well.

HTC 7 Mozart – Network and Connectivity

Mozart 7 is supportive of both 2G and 3G networks. The users of the 2G network will get access to the quad band GSM 850/ 900/ 1800/ 1900; while the 3G users will get the support of the dual band HSDPA 900/ 2100. For the Data connectivity options, Class 32 GPRS and EDGE perform a decent support. However, for high speed browsing experience, Mozart 7 is loaded with Wi-Fi® 802.11 b/g/n and HSDPA (up to 7.2 mbps). For transferring data to/from other compatible devices, you can use cable-based connectivity of microUSB v2.0 or you can go wireless with v2.1 with A2DP.

HTC 7 Mozart – the Display

As we have said, the appearance of HTC 7 Mozart definitely has an edge over the other WP7 phones by HTC. The artwork of every angle of the design is admirable. You will simply get hooked to the non-symmetrical design of the device. The unibody chassis defines the strength of the built while the huge display screen grabs the eyeballs with audacity. The display of the phone is definitely one of the best features. It is loaded with a 3.7 inches S-LCD capacitive touch screen that provides a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and 16 million colours. Other major attractions of the display include proximity sensor for auto turn off, accelerometer sensor for UI auto rotate, and multi touch input method. You will the logo of HTC on top of the device and at the back, while the touch sensitive keys are positioned right at the bottom of the display screen. The overall measurement of Mozart 7 is 119 x 60.2 x 11.9 mm and it weighs 130 grams.

HTC 7 Mozart – the Memory

Mozart 7 is a smart phone that loads the power of Windows Phone 7, which you can play with several high-end features and applications. However, to support these applications and features, the handset must include a decent memory backup, which is available to the device in the form of 8 GB internal storage capacity. Like the other WP 7 phones of HTC, this one also avoids the inclusion of microSD™ card slot. This means that you have to remain restricted with the 8GB memory capacity and you cannot increase it further. When the other smart phones are loaded with 16 GB or 32 GB storage capacity, limiting the opportunities of Mozart 7 does not seem to be a clever move.

HTC 7 Mozart – Camera

Multimedia features always play a vital role in terms of a mobile phone’s usability. Many people are driven by the entertainment tools of the handsets such as the camera. In fact, camera is a prime feature for any mobile phone and HTC 7 Mozart excels in this feature. The device is equipped with a 8 mega pixel camera with Xenon flash and auto focus. The other WP7 phones by HTC only include a 5 MP camera with LED flash, therefore, it is evident that Mozart 7’s snapper is superior over its siblings. The resolution of the camera is 3264x2448 pixels and it includes face detection and geo tagging as well. The camera can also record videos at 720p, but secondary camera for video calling is not available.

HTC 7 Mozart – Music and Video

Apart from camera, other vital multimedia features of a mobile phone are the music and video player. These media players can play files of diverse formats, and Mozart 7 is no exception. The device features a music player that can play MP3/ AAC+/ WAV /WMA9 player; and a video playback that can stream MP4/H.263/H.264/WMV9 player.

On the whole, this WP 7 supportive device by HTC looks to be the best among its previous models.
